AACON General Contractors successfully completed the GASNT Storage Facility project at Offutt Air Force Base, constructing a secure fenced compound designed to support mission-critical storage operations. The project demonstrates AACON’s expertise in delivering security infrastructure within sensitive and controlled-access environments—requiring coordination across multiple agencies, adherence to strict safety and environmental standards, and precise execution of specialized fencing systems. Despite the project’s military context, its scope and complexity closely align with USDA APHIS’s Cattle Fever Tick Eradication Program (CFTEP) fencing objectives, showcasing AACON’s capability to deliver high-quality, compliant fencing and access control solutions in regulated environments.
The scope of work included installation of 304 linear feet of 7-foot-high galvanized 9-gauge chain link fencing, complete with bottom tension wire, three-strand barbed wire outriggers, and full privacy screening. AACON also installed a 24-foot swing gate for vehicle access and a 4-foot personnel gate, both constructed with core-drilled post foundations per UFC 4-022-03 Security Fences and Gates. In addition, the project incorporated site utility enhancements, including installation of an OPPD transformer with a concrete pad and new electrical trenching to power three government-furnished Conex boxes—ensuring functionality and security within the compound.
Operating within an active Air Force installation, AACON coordinated extensively with the 55th Civil Engineer Squadron, Security Forces, and base safety personnel to ensure seamless execution without disruption to daily operations. The team obtained all necessary base credentials, environmental permits, and physical security approvals prior to mobilization. Utility locating and coordination with local providers ensured safe excavation, while final site restoration returned all disturbed areas to original condition, maintaining the base’s operational integrity and aesthetics.
Throughout the project, AACON upheld ISO 9001-aligned quality control standards, providing daily site reports, submittals, and inspections to ensure compliance with all UFC and Air Force requirements. The project was completed on time, within budget, and to the full satisfaction of the government, earning AACON follow-on fencing work at Offutt AFB and reinforcing its reputation as a trusted federal contractor for secure infrastructure projects.
