ACON General Contractors successfully completed a complex roofing and building envelope renovation while keeping the facility fully operational and at full power throughout construction. The project required careful coordination to remove existing pavers, EPDM roofing, insulation, cameras, satellites, and flashing without disrupting daily activities or the surrounding environment.

AACON installed a fully adhered 90-mil Firestone RubberGuard EPDM roof system with a 120-mph wind rating and high-density 2.5" insulation. All metal decking was inspected and repaired as needed. A key challenge was preserving and reinstalling the existing locking pavers—an effort where previous contractors had failed. AACON cleared long-blocked rooftop drains using a camera-scoping method to verify full drainage, then reinstalled the pavers, drains, and equipment to full working order.

Additional work added through contract modifications included exterior painting, joint sealant replacement, and new window installations, further enhancing the building envelope’s performance and aesthetics.

AACON’s performance was commended by USACE for exceptional quality management and reliability. As noted by William T. Anderson, COR for USACE, “AACON’s management is as predisposed to obtaining quality as USACE itself,” affirming the firm’s reputation for excellence, safety, and trustworthy project execution.
