Lake Barkley Visitor Center Exterior Upgrades

Lake Barkley, KY

About this Project

AACON was awarded this contract, Lake Barkley Visitors Center Exterior Upgrades in
September 2017. The project included replacing the roof for the Lake Barclay Resource Visitor Center and encompassed three different building elevations. The existing asphalt shingles were removed from the three multi-sloped sections of the roof system. The design and fabrication of the single sloped, prefabricated wood trusses were completed by a licensed P.E., and installed on the north and south wings of the building. AACON installed the new standing seam aluminum roofing and all associated trim/flashings for the building including the new gutter system. The new IMETCO Roof is .040″ thick aluminum, with 18″ panels, and a 20-year warranty. Despite the facility remaining open to the public and challenging weather, AACON delivered the project on time and on budget with zero safety incidents.
